Exciting performances for 2018

Jesús López Cobos starts the year in Vienna with two performances of Puccini’s Tosca on January 8 and 12, the latter of which marks the 600th performance of the Marguerita Wallmann staging. He returns to the Wiener Staatsoper later in the year to conduct Verdi’s Aïda on April 25 and 28, and May 1.

Once the Tosca performances are over, López Cobos travels to the Grand Théâtre de Genève to conduct a new production by George Lavoudant of Gounod's Faust with John Osborne in the title role. The performances take place at the Théâtre des Nations from February 1-16.

Afterwards, he tours Japan from February 18 until March 12. He leads the Kanazawa Chamber Orchestra in Western Japan, then the Hiroshima Symphony Orchestra, and ends the tour spending two weeks working with the Hyogo Performing Arts Center Orchestra.
