Concerts in Italy and a return to the Vienna State Opera

Jesús López-Cobos leads the Haydn Orchestra of Bolzano and Trento in two performances this season, featuring Mozart’s Overture to Idomeneo and the aria “Vorrei spiegarvi, oh Dio!” with soprano Anu Komsi, Britten’s Les illuminations, and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3 (“Eroica”). Concerts take place on February 23 at the Bolzano Auditorium, and on February 24 in Trento at the Auditorium.

Mr. López Cobos makes his highly anticipated return to the Vienna State Opera in April, to conduct Verdi’s Un ballo in maschera, April 19, 23, 26 & 29. This production, directed by Gianfranco de Bosio, features a spectacular international cast, including Piotr Beczała as Gustavo III, Dmitri Hvorostovsky as Count Anckarström, Krassimira Stoyanova as Amelia, and Nadia Krasteva sings Ulrica, Arvedson and Wahrsagerin.
